From your pitch, you will get spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. Please click on the links. Blencathra, Skiddaw, Latrigg, Helvellyn, and Helvellyn range including Clough Head. We are within easy reach of Scafell Pike and Catbells and many more mountain and fells that are just as wonderful. From within 2 miles are the near-by Lakes, waters, meres, and tarns of Derwentwater, Bassenthwaite, Thirlmere, Rydal, Ullswater, and Windermere to within 20 miles. "Tewet tarn" is practically on our doorstep. The majestic Lakeland scenery of Thrilkeld, Keswick, Bassenthwaite, Braithwaite, and Borrowdale within 5 miles
It's just 1 mile walk to the nearest eating places (Link) and pubs (Link) in the delightful Village of Threlkeld, and approximately 3 miles to the pretty market Town of Keswick (link) where you will find a good array of restaurants and pubs. (link) (local Taxis) (link)There are lots of walks from the site and a bus service (link) to Keswick and Threlkeld. (Castlerigg stone circle stop on time table, bus will stop at Burns Farm)
We are located in the beautiful valley of St. John's-in-the-Vale (link) about 1/2 a mile from the ancient Castlerigg Stone Circle. (link) The site is surrounded by an open bowl of hills, just right for relaxing and de-stressing in the idyllic setting, 'or' if you are more adventurous, we are ideally situated for walking, (link) water sports, fishing, rock climbing, cycling, pony riding, golf, paragliding, and all the other attractions in the North Lakes.
