About us

It will be tempting just to get your chair out and sit on the site admiring the scenery, but be strong, lace up those boots and get among.  The site lies on the edge of the village, just off the A66 and 1 mile from Threlkeld where three excellent pubs offer refuelling opportunities for worn-out walkers. There is also a golf course and cricket field which must offer the best views in Cumbria. Threlkeld also boasts of its Mining Museum, a train ride of its quarry's is a great treat for the kids.

We are only 3 miles from the pretty market Town of Keswick, you are guaranteed to find all you need to kit yourself out for your wonderful adventures. Check out 'Home of Millican', wonderful out-doors hand stitched canvas bags made from organic materials including sheep wool produced in the Valley; 'Dave the rucksack' is our own resident "Lamb"

With a good array of restaurants and pubs. (Local Taxis) There are lots of walks from the site and a bus service too. Penrith to Threlkeld and on to Keswick. The Caldbeck Rambler via Castlerigg stone circle, from Keswick will stop at Burns Farm
